The embassy of the Netherlands in Greece is looking for two new Honorary Consuls. One on the island of Samos and another on the island of Rhodes.

If you would find it an honor to represent the Netherlands in your area, this might be of interest. It will provide you interesting contacts with people from the Netherlands from different backgrounds. You enjoy helping people.
What should I bring to the table?
You should be dynamic, enthusiastic and service oriented. With your proven track record, you know how to open doors in the local community, especially with local authorities. You have your own office and facilities to do your work as honorary consul. You already have a network with the Netherlands, or you have an interest in learning about the Netherlands and building relations with the country. You speak Greek and English and maybe even Dutch. We especially encourage enterprising women to apply.
What is the salary of an Honorary Consul?
As the name implies, Honorary Consuls work on a voluntary basis. There is a fixed allowance to help with the expenses. In 2021 this was 3.736 EUR per year. The work will usually not take more than one to several hours per week, depending on local events. The appointment is for a period of 5 years.
